Main article: Asante-European Wars

The Asante-European wars are a series of wars that were instigated by the British and fought for control over the land and resources of present day Ghana between the early 1800's and early 1900's. The wars began in the late 1700's when the Asante defeated the Fanti peoples in the Asante-Fanti Wars. After the end of hostilities between the Fanti and Asante, the Asante were granted the "papers" to the cape coast castle. After which, the Asante nation controlled from the middle of Ghana to the sea. Because the British has some control over the coastal areas, and some influence over the coastal kings, the Asantehene and the British Governor often worked together to solve political issues. There was a point that they created a treaty that stated "Should any coastal state act in a way st to cause annoyance in the Asante Nation, or to show disrespect toward the Asantehene, the Governor would reprimand the state. One of these times came after one of the coastal states, the Fanti began to act as if they weren't under a part of the Asanti nation anymore. The Governor failed to reprimand the Fanti, and from then on the White man was known to not keep promises. After some years there was no word from the British Governor so the Asantehene disregarded the treaty, and advised his people to stop trading with the British. In the following years, the British began to empower the coastal states, using divide and conquer tactics against the Afrikans of the area.

Loving Black Family

Today I wanted to discuss a show that used to come on TV and is decent. Decency is rarely seen today. The program is called Roc, and it came on in the early 90's. The show revolves around 4 main people. Roc, a Baltimore sanitation worker, his wife Eleanor, who works in a hospital, his father, and Eleanor's brother. Its nice because it shows a family that loves one another, struggling through Black life in America. They have their ups and downs but it usually ends in some heartwarming uplifting scene. There are times where it the show ends on a depressing note, but that's black life too.

The latest age of slavery has been the enslavement of Blacks by White people. The memory of this age will persist in the thinking of Black people until they have vindicated themselves.

This tragic and historic event, the resulting bitter feeling, and the yearning or the vindication of a whole race, constitute a psychological motivation of Black people to vengeance and triumph that cannot be disregarded. In addition, the inevitable cycle of social history, which includes the Yellow people's domination of the world when it marched from Asia, and the White people's carrying out a wide-ranging colonialist movement covering all the continents of the world, is now giving way to the re-emergence of Black people.

Black people are now in a very backward social situation, but such backwardness works to bring about their numerical superiority because their low standard of living has shielded them from methods of birth control and family planning. Also, their old social traditions place no limit on marriages, leading to their accelerated growth. The population of other races has decreased because of birth control, restrictions on marriage, and constant occupation in work, unlike the Blacks, who tend to be less obsessive about work in a climate which is continuously hot.
