Triliteral Egyptian hieroglyphs are symbols which represent a specific sequence of three consonants, also vowels and consonants, in the language. In the written Egyptian language, three types of hieroglyphs existed: those that represented one value (called uniliterals, the alphabetic signs), those that represented two, (called biliteral) and those that represented three, (called triliteral).
